Plot:
A young couple dare to try improving what they've been told is a perfect life in this fantasy based on the novel by A.F. Th. van der Heijden. Benny (Matthijs van de Sande Bakhuyzen) and Ginny (Lois Dols de Jong) live in an alternate world where the whole of human existence is carried out in the space of 24 hours -- people are born at dawn, attend school in the morning, meet and fall in love in the early afternoon, and die late at night after career and family. For the people who live in this world, everything is remarkable and exciting because it is experienced for the first time and never again. But when Benny and Ginny fall for one another and make love, the experience is so blissful that they decide they must repeat it. The lore of their culture has it that in Hell, one lives a long, slowly paced life in which the experiences they have in a single day are repeated again and again with the passing of many years. Benny and Ginny decide to temp fate and commit a murder, hoping they'll be damned to a life spent together. The lovers end up in the electric chair, but they're sentenced to a Hell where they live separate lives, only occasionally crossing paths with their soul mates. The first feature film from director Mark de Cloe, Het Leven Uit Een Dag (aka Life In One Day) received its North American premiere at the 2010 Cinequest Film Festival.
